Become A Coach

Coaches lead the player development journey at SCNC. They support players to build skills, confidence, teamwork and resilience in a positive, encouraging environment.

Whether you’re experienced or just getting started, there’s a place for you here.

Why Coaching Matters

Our coaches are at the heart of everything we do. As a Coach, you play a key role in shaping not only how players perform, but how they feel - confident, supported, and part of a team.

Coaching is one of the most rewarding ways to be involved in our club, helping players grow both on and off the court.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate training sessions
  • Guide players on game day
  • Develop skills, teamwork, and  confidence
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment
  • Communicate with players, parents, and Team Managers
  • Attend trainings, games, and key club events
  • Support club values and performance guidelines

What You Need

  • Passion for netball and player development
  • Ability to engage and motivate players
  • Netball WA coaching accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Commitment to inclusion, fair play, and positive sportsmanship

We welcome parents, students, and community members to get involved in coaching across all age groups.

You don't have to coach on your own - SCNC encourage co-coaching, whether that’s a parent and student or friends teaming up. Co coaching creates a fun and supportive way to learn together while mentoring players and growing our club community.

  • Support a positive, inclusive and team-focused environment
  • Uphold club values, expectations and performance guidelines
  • Commit to the full season to ensure consistency for your team

Student Coaches

Student Coaching Pathways (Years 9–12)

We’re proud to support student coaches and provide a clear pathway to build skills, confidence, and leadership.

  • Year 9 - Paired with junior NetSetGo teams
  • Years 10–12 - May coach older age groups depending on experience
  • A parent/caregiver supports each team as Team Manager

This is also a great opportunity for Year 11 and 12 students to work towards College Colours for Service.

Student coaches receive strong support and guidance throughout the season. With strong support and guidance throughout the season, student coaches are set up to feel confident, capable and ready to grow in their role.

Where SCNC train

All teams train at Swan Christian College, where we are fortunate to have access to multiple spaces across the campus for training.

Training days and times are organised by each team’s coach prior to the start of the season. Coaches ensure sessions work well for players and create a positive, supportive environment for everyone to learn and grow.

Where SCNC play

All competition games are played at Dulcie Ludlow Netball Centre in partnership with Swan Districts Netball Association. The courts are located on Gray Drive in Middle Swan.
