Volunteers & Parents

Heart of the Club

Volunteers, including parents and family members, are the heart of our club.

Swan Christian Netball Club is community-run and relies on the support of families to create a positive, well-organised and welcoming environment for all players.

Why it Matters

Volunteering at SCNC

It’s the collective support of our community that makes SCNC what it is.

There are many ways to get involved at SCNC, from regular weekly roles to occasional support when you can. Whether you’re helping on game day, assisting at events, supporting fundraising days, donating to the club or stepping in behind the scenes, every contribution plays a part in creating a smooth, supportive and enjoyable season for our players.

Volunteers and parents also help shape the culture of our club. Supporting coaches, team managers and umpires, respecting decisions and following club guidelines ensures a positive and respectful environment for everyone involved.

Simply showing up matters too. Being there for your child, cheering them on, encouraging effort and celebrating progress all contribute to a strong, connected and supportive club community.

By modelling positive behaviour and good sportsmanship, you help create a space where players feel safe, supported and able to enjoy their netball. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.

Fundraising at SCNC

helping our club grow & thrive

Fundraising plays an important role in supporting our club and creating opportunities for all players. From equipment and resources to events and development opportunities, it helps us continue to grow and provide a positive netball experience for all.

The biggest thing is simply showing up and getting involved. Whether you’re attending fundraising days, supporting raffles and auctions, or helping out at events, your presence makes a real difference. If you’re in a position to sponsor the club, donate goods or services, or connect us with local businesses, we’re always looking for ways to grow and would love to hear from you.

When families get involved in fundraising, it strengthens our club and directly benefits our players. It allows us to provide better resources, create more opportunities and build a stronger, more connected community for everyone.

Join the SCNC Committee

Help shape the future of our club

Our committee plays a key role in keeping the club running smoothly behind the scenes. From planning the season to supporting volunteers and coordinating club operations, committee members help create a well-organised and positive environment for all.

Being part of the committee means working collaboratively with others to support the day-to-day running of the club. You may assist with communication, organisation, decision-making or improving how the club operates, all while contributing to a shared goal of supporting our players and families.

Getting involved at a committee level is a meaningful way to support your child’s experience and give back to the club. It helps ensure the continued growth and success of SCNC, creating a strong, supportive and thriving community for everyone.
